Language courses abroad in Malaysia
Take an English course in Malaysia, a country rich in diversity and unforgettable landscapes.
Malaysia provides an incredible mix of a rich cultural heritage, breathtaking natural beauty and exciting modern city life. Here you can choose to visit pristine beaches, ancient tropical rainforest, expansive highland tea plantations and beautiful national parks, as well as exploring traditional villages, attending cultural festivals, enjoying outdoor activities such as scuba diving, trekking and rafting, and getting close to amazing wildlife.
The Malaysia population combines Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous groups. Nowadays Islam is the most important cultural force, but there are also crucial Christian and Hindu influences, making its cities an interesting and attractive mix of Chinese and Hindu temples, mosques and churches. Furthermore, the division created by the South China Sea has created two different sides to the country’s personality. In the peninsula you will find large cities, tea plantations and beautiful islands, while in Malaysian Borneo there are wild jungles and remote Indigenous tribes. If there’s one thing that unites all these disparate elements, it’s the country’s cuisine. Combining elements from Thai, Chinese, Indian and Indonesian recipes, with some Middle Eastern flavors thrown in, Malay food is spicy, fragrant and deliciously addictive.
The national language of Malaysia is Malay (officially Bahasa Malaysia or Bahasa Melayu). English is compulsory in all schools and is spoken widely in larger cities. So much so that in the capital a large proportion of the population’s first language is English. In urban areas, many locals speak a colloquial form of English known as Manglish, and Arabic, Cantonese, Thai, Tamil and Mandarin are also spoken in some communities (depending on the region).
