Study abroad in Adelaide

Study English in Adelaide, the capital of South Australia that stretches from the coast to the Mount Lofty foothills.

Known as the 'City of Churches', Adelaide is famous for its colonial architecture, particularly its many churches. This led it to be seen by many Australians as a sleepy country city but its character has developed dramatically in recent years with modern architecture joining the old and developing a bit of a reputation as a party town. Adelaide holds various arts, sports and live music events and is particularly known for its festivals such as Adelaide Fringe and WOMADelaide. The city has a very relaxed atmosphere, with most people dressing casually and being very welcoming.

Adelaide is very close to three great wine regions (Barossa, Clare and McLaren Vales) and from here you can also visit natural attractions such as Kangaroo Island and various national parks. There are a whole range of white sandy beaches nearby, the closest being Glenelg in one of the city's suburbs. Adelaide is also a great base for exploring the Australian Outback where you can visit Ayers Rock and see aboriginal rock carvings.
