Instituto Chileno Suizo Santiago

(50 ratings)

The Instituto Chileno Suizo was founded in 2000 by a Chilean-Swiss partnership. The school offers a large variety of language courses for both Chileans and foreigners and has become well known because of its culture centre and regular program of exhibitions and workshops. In 2008, the Chilean government recognized the school for the quality of its language courses.

The Instituto Chileno Suizo offers a small but high quality range of courses. Students with limited prior knowledge of Spanish who would like to improve quickly can take a private course, with which they can go from beginners level (A1) to upper intermediate (B2) in just eight weeks. For those taking the group courses, one of the advantages is the small class size and the practical teaching methods. In addition, as the school also offers English, French, German and Italian lessons to local residents, studying at the Insituto Chileno Suizo is a great way to meet and make friends with Chileans and other students from all over the world.

The school is located in the young and trendy Barrio Lastarria, a popular part of the city where there are many small independent shops, cafes, theatres, museums and cinemas. There are also a few universities nearby, so the area has a student vibe and a creative atmosphere. The nearest metro station is only five minutes’ walk away. The school is spread over two floors of a building that has been declared a historical monument.

The Instituto Chileno Suizo organizes a weekly activity program including tours of the city, culture workshops, dancing and cooking lessons and cinema nights. Some of these activities are offered free of charge and others are at a reduced price. The school’s staff can also help you to plan excursions for your free time. The school’s teachers all have a university diploma and at least two years of experience teaching Spanish.
