Inlingua Île de Ré
Forming part of one of the world’s largest language learning networks, Inlingua’s Île de Ré school combines the best of quality teaching methods in an idyllic location. Inlingua formed in 1968, developing a unique method for ensuring language learning success. This method focuses on the spoken language and developing communication skills. Inlingua’s methodology applies to all of their schools, even though they are run independently of each other. The main focus is on building confidence in verbal communication and reinforcing this with reading and listening skills.
Inlingua Île de Ré school forms part of its La Rochelle center which was opened in 2000. Located on the Île de Ré island itself, in smaller school facilities, the school offers private courses, ideal for those who want to enjoy the relaxing lifestyle on Île de Ré whilst improving their French skills. Adults’ private courses are located in the school’s center located in a quiet residential suburb, just ten minutes outside of the main town, Saint-Martin-de-Ré. Here students have access to wifi, kitchen facilities and computers to use between classes.
Île de Ré is also the location where junior courses are hosted. Young students enjoy an immersive program of French lessons and activities such as water sports and exploring the island. Sporting activities in the afternoon programs often take place with other native French speaking student, giving the young students ample opportunity to practice their skills both inside and outside of the classroom. The junior course uses their own separate facilities, located on the same road as the main Inlingua office on Île de Ré.
Given its flat topography, cycling is a popular form of transport on Île de Ré, and the island is well connected by a series of cycle networks and roads. Time between classes can be spent exploring the island along the numerous cycle paths or relaxing in one of the seaside restaurants or cafes in the town. For students who want to travel further afield, the school team is happy to help advise and organize travel on the French mainland, with cities such as Paris and Bordeaux just a train trip away.
All Inlingua teachers have a university degree and between three and twelve years of experience teaching French as a foreign language.
