CEC Cork Douglas Cork
Since 1978, CEC Cork Douglas has been in teaching English as a foreign language to young adults and children. Besides the basics of grammar and vocabulary, the school has a focus on verbal communication so that are able to quickly and confidently communicate in English. Staying at a host family helps with this goal because they will help you after class to put your new language knowledge into practice.
At our partner school, a large number of international students are brought together, so students are fully immersed in a cultural exchange. The school actively focuses on the important of practicing the language, as such, students are encouraged to speak in English during their activity sessions as well as in class. CEC Cork Douglas offers golf, horseback riding or rugby lessons which can be combined with a language course. The school forms part of the Junior Center run by CEC Cork language school, however, classes are taken at the Douglas Community School, in a suburban area located approximately two kilometers from the city center or a few minutes by bus.
The staff organizes an interesting and innovative activity program which includes excursions, dancing, a trip to a high ropes center and canoeing, amongst others.
All teachers at CEC hold a university degree, a TEFL diploma (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) and at least three of teaching experience.
